Hire a cook this Ramadan

April 24, 2022

Over the course of Ramadan, millions upon millions of Muslims around the world will be observing Ramadan. From fasting from dawn until dusk and spending time with a focus on prayer, reflection, and community, the festival is something adored around the world. A huge part of Ramadan is the daily iftar, where the fast is broken and everyone sits around the table, eating a lovingly prepared feast. Typically, that meal is prepared by someone in your home, but it doesn’t need to be. This year, consider breaking the fast with a cook in your home.

Breaking the daily fast with a cook in your home

Ramadan, while an annual tradition, can often be a time filled with confusing circumstances. Perhaps you’ve got a surprise family member coming over for iftar, or maybe the reverse has happened – several members of your home could have been pulled away to celebrate with other people.

If that’s the case, you don’t want to be left high and dry with enough food to feed an army, only to have to store it all up in plastic tubs. The ideal solution would be for you to be supremely flexible – able to adjust your cooking for any number of people at a moment’s notice. Sadly, that’s just not possible.

However, professional cooks have made their name by establishing the fact that they are superbly flexible and will be happy to help you out however they can. The best way to be sure that you can cook for surprise guests, or adjust down to just you and close family, is to look for a local cook through our app. While it might not be the ideal solution for every single day of Ramadan, it is certainly a helpful way to make Ramadan a little easier for the whole family.

Embrace prayer and community by leaving the cooking to someone else

The benefit that most people think of when considering an outside chef is that the food they eat will taste great, and be cooked well. However, we always encourage people to consider the other benefit – they haven’t got to spend any time in the kitchen! Instead of slaving away over a hot stove for hours, you can be free to socialize with friends and family in your home, safe in the knowledge that the food for that evening is completely taken care of. What’s more, after you’re done eating, a cook or team of cooks offering great service will be more than happy to leave your kitchen just as clean as they found it – if not cleaner!

This allows you more time to enjoy any Ramadan traditions you might have, as well as gives you a little time to create some new ones if you’d like. With all these thoughts in your mind, we certainly do hope that you’ll consider a professional cook this Ramadan. It’s a great way to get as much out of the season as possible, from spending more time with family and friends to allowing yourself more time for prayer.
